Choosing a Hormone Therapy Consultant

If you are interested in treating your menopausal symptoms with bio-identical hormone therapy, then the next step is to choose a consultant with whom you can have a detailed discussion about your particular needs.

A good place to start is with the North American Menopause Society’s website, which has a listing by geographic area of Certified Menopause Practitioners (NCMPs): NCMPs have completed additional training in menopause and hormone therapy, and have the most experience in assisting women in the selection of a personal plan. These providers have years of experience in providing health care services to women.

At Chapel Hill Gynecology, Dr. Clark is a Certified Menopause Practitioner who understands the important role that hormones play in women’s health and work collaboratively to assist women in achieving excellent health.

Dr. Clark is a gynecologist who has had fellowship training at Duke University in Reproductive Endocrinology, and is a member of the North American Menopause Society (NAMS). In addition to this academic background, she has had years of practical experience in successfully treating women with hormonal issues such menopause and perimenopause, PMS, and PMDD. In doing so, she prescribes bioidentical hormones when hormone treatment is needed, unless specific circumstances dictate otherwise.
